Vol. 3 covers a portion of the music I made in my last year and a half in Pittsburgh, covering 2018 to mid 2019. A few tracks from the bedroom vaults of my time in Troy Hill, a strange time in my life up on the hill where the houses are all 3 inches from one another, the streets are one car wide, and you can't see the sky by looking out any window of your house.. Hot summers, juvenile pill heads and lots of car break ins. I commuted by bike from up on the hill into downtown Pittsburgh near the point daily and at the end biked all the way the fuck back up, working for pretty shit wages at a bike rental shop by the point. Living adrift from ever pricier bedroom to bedroom, roommates to roommates, trying to cram in my creativity wherever it would fit between trying to survive. A reoccurring theme. The other portion of these recordings were done in the 3rd floor attic studio I had in my last residence ever in ever-gentrifying Pittsburgh, having been forced into a living situation with some pretty terrible strangers. Really gorgeous old house and the studio painted like the Lodge in Twin Peaks, but the living was truly hellish. I hit a really low point here mentally and emotionally but it's strange that the music doesn't totally reflect that, which feels like a creative triumph.
